Laying Hybrid Flooring

Hybrid flooring is a type of flooring that combines the durability of laminate with the look and feel of hardwood. It can be installed using a floating method, which means that it is not glued or nailed to the subfloor, but instead, it is interlocked together and rests on top of an underlayment.

To install hybrid flooring, you will need the following tools and materials:

  • Hybrid flooring planks
  • Underlayment
  • Measuring tape
  • Utility knife
  • Jigsaw
  • Tapping block
  • Pull bar
  • Spacers

Prepare the subfloor by cleaning it and making sure it is level and free of debris.

Roll out the underlayment and cut it to fit the room, leaving a 3/8 inch expansion gap around the perimeter of the room.

Begin installing the flooring in the left-hand corner of the room, using spacers to ensure that the expansion gap is maintained.

Use the tapping block and pull bar to lock the planks together, making sure that the end joints are tight and the planks are level.

Continue installing the planks in this manner until the entire room is covered.

Once the installation is complete, remove the spacers and install baseboards or other trim pieces to cover the expansion gap.

It is recommended to refer the instructions manual before installing the Hybrid flooring and also consulting with professional for proper installation of the flooring.
